Advantages of pneumatic hangars for the military sector:

Our production capacity reaches 20,000 m² of structures per month. We deliver and install hangars in English-speaking African countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and others.
  • Camouflage colours — better discretion in the field
  • Strategic mobility — rapid dismantling and relocation
  • Low weight + compact packing — air or all-terrain transport even without roads
  • Free internal volume without supports — facilitates parking of helicopters, drones and vehicles
  • Field hospitals and medical modules
  • Covered sports areas (tennis, multi-sport)
  • Reception and event zones

Two-level protection

The pneumatic hangar quickly creates a covered and masked space for equipment. Inside, personnel can use armoured vehicles (BTR) or modern command posts mounted on all-terrain KAMAZ chassis as protected shelters.
This combination protects aircraft and vehicles while giving personnel a higher level of protection, without building a permanent concrete structure, and while maintaining full mobility.
Why a pneumatic hangar is preferable to a metal or concrete hangar for military equipment
When choosing a structure for helicopters, drones, military vehicles and command posts, the decisive criteria are speed of deployment, mobility, discretion and cost.
A metal hangar or a concrete construction has several limitations:
  • Long construction timelines and heavy foundations
  • Permanent structure that is difficult to move
  • High cost
  • Strong visual and thermal signature
In contrast, a pneumatic structure is installed in a few days without foundations, can be delivered even without roads, is dismantled and relocated quickly. It is available in camouflage colours and allows armoured vehicles (BTR) or command posts on KAMAZ chassis to be parked inside, creating combined protection for equipment and personnel.
How we work
We receive your request
Within one business day we clarify the need, the starting area (for example 500 m²) and the site conditions.
We prepare the project
We calculate wind loads, plan the anchoring points and the connections for the engineering systems, including for future extension.
We manufacture the frame
All joints are made by high-frequency and thermal welding. Every joint is tested for airtightness.
We install and connect
We install the hangar on site and connect ventilation, lighting, video surveillance and the other networks.
We will answer any questions
QUESTION:
What keeps the structure standing?
ANSWER:
A valve system regulates the pressure in the frame, releasing or adding air as needed.
QUESTION:
How often is inflation required?
ANSWER:
The system works automatically and activates only when necessary — continuous inflation is not required.
QUESTION:
Is the structure sensitive to power outages?
ANSWER:
No. The equipment can operate from a solar panel and can easily withstand power interruptions of several hours.
QUESTION:
How long does it take to install a military hangar?
ANSWER:
On average from 2 to 10 days, depending on the size of the structure.
QUESTION:
Is a foundation required?
ANSWER:
The hangars are installed on a prepared site without a permanent foundation. Sand ballast or anchoring engineering systems are used for this.
QUESTION:
Can a hangar be designed for a specific military or civilian use?
ANSWER:
Yes. We size each structure according to the characteristics of your military or civilian need and your specific requirements.
QUESTION:
What is the service life of a pneumatic hangar?
ANSWER:
With proper operation — more than 25 years.
QUESTION:
Do you work with military structures and government operators?
ANSWER:
Yes. We carry out projects for armed forces, security operators and government organisations.
QUESTION:
Which African countries do you work with?
ANSWER:
We have a branch in Togo and, from the port of Lomé, we ship hangar assembly kits in sea containers across English-speaking Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and others) and the Middle East.

Why choose PanHorizon pneumatic hangars for military equipment?

The design of facilities intended for the parking and maintenance of helicopters, light aircraft, drones and military vehicles imposes specific requirements of mobility, discretion and speed of deployment.
Wind load calculations are set between 35 and 45 m/s. The operating temperature range extends from –50 °C to +70 °C. The envelope is made of reinforced PVC membrane (650–900 g/m², thickness 0.55–0.80 mm), available in camouflage colours. The material meets fire behaviour requirements (classification G1 / RP2 / B2).
The expected service life exceeds 25 years. The pressure regulation system operates between 1.5 and 3.0 kPa. The required electrical power varies from 0.7 to 8 kW.
All joints are made by high-frequency and thermal welding, without sewing. Fixing points for technical networks are integrated from the design stage. The absence of internal supports maximises the usable volume for the parking of aircraft and armoured vehicles.
Looking for a hangar for helicopters, drones, light aircraft or military vehicles?
We manufacture mobile, prefabricated, PVC and pneumatic hangars available in camouflage colours.
These structures are suitable for the parking and maintenance of aircraft, drones (UAV) and armoured vehicles.
Low weight and reduced volume allow delivery even in areas without roads. Inside, personnel can use BTRs or command posts on KAMAZ chassis as protected shelters.

PVC pneumatic structure VS metal or concrete hangar for military equipment

Many operators compare not only the price, but also the speed of deployment, mobility and discretion. Pneumatic structures win on all of these points, especially when combined with armoured vehicles or command posts on KAMAZ chassis inside.
  • No condensation on the structure
  • No foundation required
  • No internal supports
  • No heavy construction equipment required
  • Very fast installation and dismantling
  • Full airtightness thanks to the absence of seams
