“We design custom pneumatic hangars for the storage of cereals, cotton and farm equipment. The main advantage is the complete absence of internal supports, which maximises usable space and makes loading and unloading easier.”
Design engineer
“Every hangar is designed with a high-strength PVC membrane. The joints are welded without sewing or glue. Installation takes 2 to 10 days, and the structure can be moved according to the needs of the agricultural season.”

Advantages of pneumatic hangars for agriculture:

Our production capacity reaches 20,000 m² of structures per month. We deliver and install hangars in English-speaking African countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and others.
  • Fast installation — assembly in 2 to 10 days
  • No internal supports — maximum free space
  • High strength — resistant to wind, weather and temperature variations
  • Mobility — the hangar can be dismantled and transported without material loss
  • Cost-effective — significantly cheaper than permanent buildings, including maintenance
  • No foundations — can be installed on any prepared site
  • Versatility — suitable for both storage and maintenance
Why a pneumatic hangar is preferable to a metal hangar for agricultural storage
When choosing a structure for the storage of cereals, cotton, fertilizers or farm equipment, the decisive criteria are the protection of the harvest, the speed of commissioning and flexibility of use according to the seasons.
A classic metal hangar has several major limitations:
  • Internal supports that complicate loading and unloading
  • The need for heavy foundations and long construction times
  • Strong heat build-up under the African sun
  • High difficulty and cost of moving or expanding the structure
In contrast, a pneumatic structure is installed in just a few days, without permanent foundations. It can be dismantled and reinstalled on another site according to the agricultural seasons. It allows you to start with an area adapted to current needs and to expand it easily later. Over the full life cycle, it is often more economical thanks to short timelines, the absence of heavy foundations and the possibility of reuse from one season to another.
How we work
We receive the request
Within one business day we clarify the need, the type of storage (cereals, cotton, fertilizers, equipment) and the conditions of the platform.
We prepare the project
We calculate wind loads, plan the anchoring points and the connections for the engineering systems.
We manufacture the frame
All joints are made by high-frequency and thermal welding. We test for airtightness.
We install and connect
We install the hangar on site and connect ventilation, lighting, video surveillance and the other networks.

We will answer any questions
QUESTION:
What keeps the structure standing?
ANSWER:
A valve system regulates the pressure in the frame, releasing or adding air as needed.
QUESTION:
How often is inflation required?
ANSWER:
The system works automatically and activates only when necessary — continuous inflation is not required.
QUESTION:
Is the structure sensitive to power outages?
ANSWER:
No. The equipment can operate from a solar panel and can easily withstand power interruptions of several hours.
QUESTION:
How long does it take to install an agricultural hangar?
ANSWER:
On average from 2 to 10 days, depending on the size of the structure.
QUESTION:
Is a foundation required?
ANSWER:
The hangars are installed on a prepared site without a permanent foundation. Sand ballast or anchoring engineering systems are used for this.
QUESTION:
Can a hangar be designed for a specific type of agricultural storage?
ANSWER:
Yes. We size each structure according to the characteristics of your agricultural storage need and your specific requirements.
QUESTION:
What is the service life of a pneumatic hangar?
ANSWER:
With proper operation — more than 25 years.
QUESTION:
Do you work with agricultural cooperatives and government clients?
ANSWER:
Yes. We carry out projects for both private agricultural cooperatives and companies, as well as government organisations and subcontractors.
QUESTION:
Which African countries do you work with?
ANSWER:
We have a branch in Togo and, from the port of Lomé, we ship hangar assembly kits in sea containers across English-speaking Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and others) and the Middle East.

Why choose PanHorizon pneumatic hangars for agriculture?

The design of facilities intended for the storage of cereals, cotton, fertilizers and farm equipment in West and Central Africa imposes strict technical requirements. Pneumatic-frame structures with PVC membrane have been developed to precisely meet the climatic, operational and product conservation constraints of agriculture.
Wind load calculations are set in the range of 35 to 45 m/s depending on the exposure of the site and the region of installation. These values guarantee the stability of the structure even on open platforms frequently subjected to strong winds. Snow loads, although secondary in most of the climatic zones concerned, are included between 80 and 150 kg/m² to ensure versatility of use. The operating temperature range extends from –50 °C to +70 °C, covering the extreme conditions of the Sahelian regions as well as more temperate or high-altitude zones.
The envelope is made of reinforced PVC membrane with a density of 650 to 900 g/m² and a thickness of 0.55 to 0.80 mm. The outer white layer is equipped with a high-performance UV filter that reflects the maximum of solar rays. Inside the air chambers a black blackout membrane is systematically used, which completely blocks the penetration of light. This double design prevents the sun from heating the interior surface of the hangar and helps maintain a lower and more stable temperature, which is decisive for the conservation of cereals, cotton and fertilizers. The material offers high tensile strength, excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation, good resistance to humidity and meets fire behaviour requirements (classification G1 / RP2 / B2).
The expected service life of the structure exceeds 25 years under normal operating conditions. The automatic internal pressure regulation system operates in the range of 1.5 to 3.0 kPa and intervenes only in the event of a significant variation. The required electrical power varies from 0.7 to 8 kW depending on the covered area, which limits energy consumption, particularly on remote sites where the power supply is limited or expensive.
All membrane joints are made exclusively by high-frequency and thermal welding. No sewing or glue is used. This method guarantees lasting airtightness and superior mechanical strength of the joints throughout the service life of the structure. Fixing points for technical networks (ventilation, lighting, video surveillance, fire detection) are integrated from the design stage, allowing precise adaptation to the specific needs of each farm: bulk cereal storage, cotton bale storage, fertilizer conservation or shelter for farm equipment.
The complete absence of internal supports maximises the usable volume and facilitates loading, unloading and handling operations. The structure is designed to accept the integration of forced ventilation systems, humidity control and handling equipment adapted to agricultural products.

PVC pneumatic structure VS metal hangar for agriculture
Many mining clients compare not only the price, but also the speed of installation, the possibility of relocation and the protection of equipment. Pneumatic structures win on all of these points.
  • No condensation on the structure
  • No internal supports
  • Very fast installation and dismantling
  • No foundation required
  • No heavy construction equipment required
  • Full airtightness thanks to the absence of seams
